After work Friday night we grocery shop. Because of our commute, Friday's dinner is generally a quick hodgepodge of easy-to-serve meats, cheeses and pickled things. Pickles come room-temperature but they taste and crunch better cold. If I've just bought a new jar of pickles, how do I quickly chill them for dinner in ten minutes?
1. Empty jar of pickles into Ziploc bag.
2. Place bag into container covered in ice and water.
3. Shake on rock salt.
4. Chill until dinner.
The only downside: the pickles will not all fit back into the jar easily.
